Oracle Systems Administrator

A large international company located in Baltimore, MD is looking for an Oracle Systems Administrator. Within the next 6 months this firm will be upgrading to Oracle Financial Release 12 giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work with Oracle's hottest technology. Job Responsibilities include:
- Administer Oracle Financial applications: Financials, A/P, Financial Data Warehouse, and any additional modules as the company adds.
- Develops complex reports and other analysis or reconciliation tools as requested by users.
- Lead or participate in ongoing development of the Oracle Applications by utilizing functionality to improve business processes. Includes the upgrade of current modules and implementation of new modules as required.
- Participate in technology discussions and make recommendations.
- Advise on new solutions for enterprise business applications integration and functionality activation.
- Utilize technical area expertise to assess, select, and manage and implement enterprise application components, and to ensure that the technical solution solves the business problem.
- Participate in projects or work with project leaders and follow project management discipline.
- Contribute to project plans that reflect business analysis approach, deliverables, and estimates. As needed, lead small to medium sized projects.
- Assure that projects meet objectives and are completed on time and according to corporate policies, standards, and procedures.
- Gather and document Business Requirements. Interface with users to assist in gathering functional and system requirements from end users. Write clear and articulate documentation of the desired system changes.
- Understand the impact of process changes and be able to guide process definitions accordingly.
Job Requirements include:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, computer science or comparable undergraduate degree. CPA preferred, but not required.
- 3+ years of proven experience testing, supporting, and administering Oracle 11i applications.
- Proven experience developing SQL statements and scripts.
- Demonstrated ability to use Oracle to solve business issues while managing cost and risk.
- Experience using querying/reporting applications such as TOAD, Discoverer Administration, Discoverer Desktop/Plus, and BI Publisher Reports.
- Demonstrated progressive career including hands-on technical, analysis, and project management experience.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines.
- Experience in the adaptation to and the application of rapidly changing technology to business needs.
- Demonstrated business systems understanding and orientation.
